Newbury Showground is a Young Driver 'super site' meaning that it offers more extensive driving opportunities on a much larger space than our usual sites. As a result, while Newbury Showground is great for beginners it also offers a broader range of driving activities for more experienced pupils.

Beginners have plenty of space to master the clutch, gears, braking and steering before moving on to a range of junctions including give ways, roundabouts, T junctions, cross , traffic lights and stop junctions. There is s mix of one and two way traffic and the opportunity to drive at speeds of up to 40mph in places, giving drivers plenty of practice moving through all of the gears. 

There is free parking, toilets, a dedicated viewing area and light refreshments are on sale.

Days Out

Young Driver is less than fifteen minutes drive from the beautiful market town of Newbury with its shops, restaurants and cafes. Nearby attractions include the Greenham Common control tower museum and historic Highclere Castle made famous as Downton Abbey.
