As you would expect from an ex RAF base, this venue offers a huge driver training area which can accommodate beginners or advanced pupils. Beginners can learn clutch control and gears before going on to master junctions from roundabouts and crossroads to Stop and Give Way T junctions. With one and two way roads, manoeuvring and steering zones, parking and reversing areas and a long straight where pupils can safely reach 4th gear, Elvington is one of our biggest Supersites. Parking is free and we have light refreshments, a dedicated viewing area and light refreshments available.
The Yorkshire Air Museum is on site at Elvington and houses one of the most impressive aircraft displays in the UK and a range of historic cars. For those wanting to travel further afield, the city of York is under 20 minutes away with stores, cafes, restaurants and attractions from the Jorvik Viking Centre to the National Rail Museum.
